Have any of you walked past a scenario or come up one that looks just amazing but you know that you can’t get the best result without using HDR? Well that has happened a lot to me and quite frankly it always bothered me because my HDR technique has never been that strong. For many months now I have slowly been working on my HDR technique. Well this past weekend I was out in one of my favorite places, Yellowstone, and the skies were amazing.
It’s always a hit or miss down there and with the storm clouds coming in from the west i wasn’t sure what it would be like. Luck was on my side. It didn’t start raining until about 7:30 and up till then the skies were beautiful. I mean take a look at the view from Calcite Springs Overlook, can’t get much better.
Then on the way out of the Valley the sky did exactly what i was hoping it would do. The God beams came right on down behind the butte and gave a fantastic show. I thought it rather funny as I stood up on the hill watching and shooting, while all the other day visitors drove on by. I was just glad I had the tools to capture the moment.
