You know how you come across something and you just can’t put your finger on it but something is telling you to photograph that subject? Well I had that feeling this past weekend when I stumbled upon this tree. I don’t know what it was but something kept calling to me to photograph the tree. Now it had no leaves, surrounded by houses and a fence, but nonetheless I had to do something. The great puffy clouds were still around so i clicked a couple quick shots off and then continued down the road.

When I get back to the computer after a shoot, I usually have some idea of how I want to process my images. This time I didn’t. Not sure if that was just me or if it was the image. So here’s where I landed on and it’s not an answer. In those instances where you see something and something says to capture the image, is it your instinct saying that it is a good shot or is it your brain remembering another photograph previously seen saying to take the shot?
