Photography is an interesting industry. It has challenges and let downs like any other business but it also has its own rewards. Since it is such a technology rich business it requires a constant upkeep. Those upkeeps tend to lead a lot left over. That’s where everyone can pitch in. Over the last few years I’ve upgraded systems a few times and the result has always been a leftover of computers. Now I’m sure I’m not the only one that has had this happen to them but I did something that many others probably don’t. A friend of mine needed a new notebook so why not give them one of my old ones?

Photographers love to be collectors. We have our books, our gear, our bags, and of course our images. It’s hard to let go because everything comes after a battle to earn it, but it can help others. As a photographer we have a great responsibility to capture the world around us and share that with everyone else. Why not help someone else out by sharing that old gear that sits in a closest or stays on a shelf? I did why not you.
