Lately we have had a rash of Spring like weather up here in Montana. I don’t think anyone us really complaining about the nice temps although some more snow is greatly desired for some better skiing. Maybe it’s because of this that I had a desire to go through some of my shore bird shots from past years and in the process I came up with this one that I always liked, or critter I should say. The American Avocet has always been a a favorite of mine to photograph. The great color in the neck makes it so attractive especially with a nice blue to offset it. This is at sunset so it’s a little off blue but has more warmth in the feathers.
