I don’t know why but for seem reason I felt compelled to write a post about classic cars today. Now I know of a junkyard not too far away from town that I have gone too for some time now but unfortunately they shut their doors to people coming and photographing their collection. It’s kind of sad considering how many college students would use that area for their projects. I of course just used it for blog posts. Most of these shots came from a private collection in Santa Rosa which I was fortunate to visit many years ago. Cars are a lot like planes. They each have a unique history and you have to bring emotion an emotional response to each of them.
One of my favorite lenses for doing detail work like this is the 24-70 f/2.8. It’s light, small and has a great range to work with. Another great lens for this kind of work which I have only played with a little bit is the 50mm f/1.4
