This is a question in photography that everyone seems to struggle with. How big does the subject need to be? Size isn’t always important if there are strong supporting elements to go with it. If there is an interesting and compelling background then the subject can be smaller and still be impactful. This Aeronca Champ, photographed with the D5 and 200-400 VR, is a great example since the sky has so much drama going on.
