From Old to New

The best part of being in England was seeing all the great architecture including some that I really wasn’t expecting to see. During the Grey’s of Westminster sponsored Photo Walk our great guide Michael took us to the Grand Union Canal of London which is pretty impressive being 137 miles of the 300 miles of canals in England. We walked 9 miles.

Not only are the canals home to many people who live in boats docked in different areas throughout the canal, but the canal goes through some amazing areas where docks used to bring in business. In many areas the old architecture can be seen on one side and new architecture on the other side. It’s like looking into two different worlds. The reuse of some of the old buildings is pretty impressive as well. Since it was a photo walk I went light. Knowing that it was mostly architecture I went with the D750 and 18-35 f3.5-4.5. Simple, small and light.
